Terms & Conditions

Please understand that our trip dates and capacities are limited by the federal agencies managing the public lands on which we operate, and when we accept your reservation, we may be turning others away from booking that trip. If you find it necessary to cancel your trip, please notify us as soon as possible.

CANCELLATIONS and REFUNDS:

Should you have to cancel your trip, all deposits and payments are non-refundable. If you cancel, we do not give refunds or credit for future trips. Our cancellation policy is firm and we can not make exceptions to this policy for personal illness, accidents, or family emergencies. Because of this, we require all participants to purchase trip cancellation and travel insurance (see “Insurance” section below).

If you cancel, you may always try to find someone to take your place. Replacement guests you provide are welcome with no cancellation fee. Sundog Expeditions will also do our best to fill your spot with another client. We often operate with waiting lists on our trips, and will make every effort possible for a positive outcome.

INSURANCE:

Sundog Expeditions recommends that you purchase travel insurance to protect you and your vacation investment. All trip payments to Sundog Expeditions are non-refundable, but should you have to cancel your trip due to a covered illness, injury, family emergency, or other unforeseen circumstances, a travel insurance policy may cover your non refundable payments. If you become ill or injured while on a river trip, evacuation may be prolonged, difficult, and expensive. Many trip insurance policies provide coverage for such events as well. If you choose not to purchase travel insurance you will be asked to sign a waiver form. Sundog Expeditions works with and recommends Travelex Insurance.

For more information on available plans, contact Travelex Insurance at (800) 228-9792 or online at www.travelexinsurance.com and use Agency Location # 12-0060.

Baggage and cameras are carried entirely at the owner’s risk, and Sundog Expeditions accepts no responsibility for lost, damaged, or delayed property.

COVID-19 POLICIES:

Sundog Expeditions follows the most current COVID-19 guidelines and protocols published by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). To reduce the risk of contagion to other Sundog Expeditions clients, we cannot take clients on our river trips who are within the 10-day window of a positive COVID test as suggested by the CDC. We ask all Sundog clients to be mindful when they are traveling for our river trips and take every precaution to protect you, other Sundog clients and our guides.

REMOTE TRAVEL & POSSIBILITY OF DELAYS:

Weather and flight connections permitting, you will return from your trip late in the day on the last day of your trip’s published end date. It is a good idea to plan one or more extra days in the area following your return in case of delay. Relatives and employers should be made aware of delay possibilities. Travel in Alaska is dynamic and unpredictable, please plan accordingly.
